Thesis:
The Treaty of Versailles's harsh terms, especially the war guilt clause and economic reparations, bred resentment among the German people towards the Weimar republic. They blamed the new administration for accepting the treaty, creating a precarious political environment in Germany which allowed radical right wing parties, such as the Nazis, to rise to power. The treaty was never adequately enforced; enabling Adolf Hitler to remilitarize Germany in the 1930s.
